Bojan Sudjić, born in 1965. He was still a student when he became a Laureate and won the First Prize at the Yugoslav Competition of Music Artists in Zagreb in 1989. This prize was granted for the first time since the establishment of this competition in 1948. Later he attended advanced training courses by Ilja Musin in Sankt Petersburg and Otmar Suitner in Vienna. Professional collaboration with Maestro Leif Segerstam and his guidance were of immense importance for Sudjić’s musical accomplishment. Maestro Sudjić became Principal Conductor of the Serbian RTV Orchestra and Choir in 1992. He was also Chief conductor (1999) and General Music Director (2004) of the National Opera in Belgrade, and Conductor in Residence (2000­‐2003) of the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. 

He conducted more than 40 symphonic orchestra, including the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (Finland), Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra (Russia), The Orquesta Filarmónica de la UNAM (Mexico), the Odense Symphony Orchestra (Denmark), the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, The Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra(Portugal), The Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma (Italy), the Carinthian Symphony Orchestra (Austria) Bojan Sudjić is gaining widespread recognition for his work both on the concert platform and in the opera pit, with a broad repertoire from Palestrina and Monteverdi to the most challenging of contemporary works. Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Mahler’s symphonies No.8 and 2, Carmina Burana, Berlioz’s and Verdi’s Requiems are among the works he conducted with more than 500 musicians on stage.
